Mainnet Beta launch for Polygon’s new blockchain network.

There is no launch time for this event, only that it is on March 27.

DETAILS

• Following the launch of the Polygon zkEVM public testnet in October 2022, Polygon is launching the Mainnet Beta – Mainnet RPC, blockchain explorer, bridge, etc., will be live
• Using the Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta will not be incentivized
• Polygon zkEVM is Polygon’s second blockchain network launch, following Polygon PoS (Proof of Stake)
• Polygon zkEVM is an open-source, zero knowledge rollup Ethereum L2 scaling solution that will offer EVM-equivalence (near identical), lower transaction cost compared to L1, and inherits the security of Ethereum L1
• Existing EVM-compatible smart contracts and dApps can be deployed on Polygon zkEVM
• Both Polygon PoS and zkEVM chains will exist separately – there is no direct interaction, but assets can be bridged across chains via Ethereum network (L1 ↔ zkEVM/PoS)
• There is no separate native token for Polygon zkEVM
• ETH will be used for transaction fees
• MATIC will be used for staking and governance in the future
• Polygon zkEVM network will be supported on Polygon Wallet Suite to bridge, swap, and manage assets
• Up to $1,000,000 bug bounty will be available for reporting vulnerabilities discovered in the smart contracts or blockchain during the Mainnet Beta
